VL45 PLUS introduces the first 3-way access system in a portable freezer. Open from the left, open from the right, or pull from the side with the slide-out basket design. Whether your fridge is installed in a truck bed, SUV cargo area, camper, or tight overland setup, you can access your food without awkward positioning or unloading surrounding gear.
Designed for flexible off-grid use, VL45 PLUS is compatible with ICECO magnetic battery for portable cooling beyond your vehicle. Simply attach the battery directly to the freezer for a cleaner and more convenient off-grid setup.
VL45 PLUS uses advanced Vacuum Insulated Panels technology to reduce temperature loss and improve cooling efficiency. The 2.8" extra thick insulation layers help keep cold air inside longer while reducing unnecessary power consumption during extended trips.
VL45 PLUS gives you three convenient ways to manage your cooling setup. Adjust settings directly from the onboard control panel, monitor temperatures through the Bluetooth app, or control the unit using Apple CarPlay while driving.
Unlike traditional coolers, VL45 PLUS delivers consistent compressor cooling without melted ice, water buildup, or temperature swings. Compared to entry-level 12V fridges, the 3-way access system makes it easier to reach items inside tight vehicle setups without unloading your gear.
3-way access means VL45PLUS allows you to reach your food and drinks from multiple directions: the top lid, side door, and front pull-out basket. This makes it easier to use in SUVs, truck beds, RVs, campsites, and tighter outdoor setups.
When the side door is fully opened and the handle is supported by a stable surface, it can support up to 40 kg / 88 lbs. Please leave at least 6 inches / 150 mm of clearance in front of the side door so the handle can touch the surface and act as a support point.
If the side door is completely suspended in the air without support, the tested load capacity is about 10 kg / 22 lbs. For safety, we do not recommend placing a heavily loaded basket on a fully unsupported side door.
Like any refrigerator or freezer, some cold air exposure is normal whenever a door is opened. VL45PLUS helps reduce this impact with a VIP vacuum insulation panel in the side door, a thicker foam insulation layer, and a sealed door structure.
The side-access design also allows you to grab items faster in vehicles, trunks, or tight spaces, helping reduce the time the door stays open. During normal use, the insulation and sealing design help the interior temperature recover quickly and maintain stable cooling performance.
This fridge is awesome. I previously had a competitor's fridge and had to replace it as it was too tall to fit in my 4Runner with the Solid Woodworx cargo box. This fridge works perfectly! Tons of space to store food, and access is made simple with the ability to open the door from the side (or what would be the front for me). Access is quick and easy; no need to purchase a sliding tray or remove the fridge from the vehicle when you need to get stuff out. I was initially hesitant to pay this much for a fridge, but this thing is beautiful and functional. I have had problems getting the Apple CarPlay app to work properly, and I wish the smaller basket on the inside of this fridge was able to slide out from the side, but other than that, this thing is damn near perfect.
It’s been a great fridge so far! Would have liked to seen the smaller basket able to come out using the 3rd door access. The fridge in general seems very well built, but only time will tell on the 3rd door. That feature alone was the only reason why I bought it.
So far so good but I am pleased with the unit ? would I buy another? yes I plan to next year as we run a off grid log cabin rental resort. It seems very sturdy but the selling point for us is the low electrical draw. We will be getting more of them next year probably two larger than the 44.4 unit .
This unit is a home run! I have three ICECO refrigerators and two from another brand. The use of the extra space above the compressor is amazing. Having access on the side makes it incredibly useful in the back of my Toyota FJ Cruiser or in my Sprinter. I have had zero issues with lower voltage or cooling. I am using it as a refrigerator, not a freezer (have not tested that low of a temperature). Well done ICECO.
I ran the fridge in the back of my Jeep Wrangler for a solid week off a 1500 Wh battery bank and it worked flawlessly taking about 100 Wh per day to keep it at 33°F in the CO mountains where it's already pretty chilly. The fold-down side was crucial as I don't have a slide built into the Jeep and it lots of stuff was stacked on top. I was able to access most everything anytime we wanted and it fit in the back of the Wrangler perfectly.
When we got it back, I set it to freezer mode and my son took it to college with frozen food.
The app was useful as I could check the temp while driving too.
It's been running for about 2 weeks solid between prep and the actual trip. That's not a long-term review, but it's a good start.
I LITTERALLY BOUGHT 3 REAR CARGO SYSTEMS 2 W REFER SLIDES. I ALREADY HAD ANOTHER REFER WHEN YOU ANNOUNCED THE DRAWER OPENING. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT... SOLVED MY BIG PROBLEM OF ACCESS.
