I tested this using the APL 20. Overall, this is a good buy Magnetic battery 250 W of power and I got 11 hours of runtime on my fridge. The nice small low profile of this battery makes it stand out above others, for its portability. It does take over three hours charging from AC and much longer charging from DC. This was bought specifically for the APL 20 as I think what it offers matches up perfectly with that fridge or fridge of that size. There are a few upgrades that would improve it dramatically. The orange display light I found to be not very bright and fuzzy looking, this could be solved with the use of a green Light , or one of iceco’s very bright white lights lol. I myself would opt for the green light. The magnets on the back definitely need improvement. It is very easy for them to come off even when fully seated on the plate Iceco offers, a slight bump and mine crashed to the floor. Thankfully it still works. There are 12 magnets, but they are relatively small and not very strong. A way, stronger magnet, maybe in a flat bar configuration versus the small round 12 ones that are provided, may dramatically improve its hold even through the rubber backing, which is a nice touch to not scratch up your fridge. On this particular fridge, there’s only two real mounting options which is either on the front of the fridge or on the back of the fridge, you cannot mount on the side due to handle location. Another option I would like to see is an optional shorter cable for use with this particular battery, so you are not tripping over such a long cable or trying to roll it up and tie it off as it is quite bulky. But for my uses as long as I’m careful, I found this to be an excellent purchase so much so I purchased a second one. So I can use one and charge one and extend my runtime. I imagine that due to the size of this unit is why you cannot charge it by solar, it was not a dealbreaker, but would’ve been a nice option, overall I do recommend this battery as its size and performance are excellent.
