This is an expensive fridge, in fact Iceco's most expensive. My experience with two faulty fridges and their customer service has me wishing I could do it all over again and just go with the big name brand; Dometic is only a $250 more.
Read on to hear how Iceco let me down TWICE and refuses to resolve the issue.
The biggest issue I am having is that after Iceco sent me two broken fridges in a row and after promising me a refund, they have all of a sudden changed their mind and are only offering me 40% of my purchase to be refunded. 100% of the time that I have owned an Iceco fridge it has been broken, yet they think that I have got $780 of value in owning TWO broken fridges. Get real.
During my journey through a record breaking heatwave in Texas I woke up to discover my freezer side had thawed out over 15lbs of local small family grown meats, and my fridge side had exploded every liquid container leaving a massive frozen slurry that destroyed what food was inside. Through the remainder of my journey in the hottest part of the country, ICECO had left me with a $1,299 ice chest, forcing me to make frequent stops to drain out the melted ice and buy more bags. A process I had intended to avoid by going with ICECO.
I spoke with Chelsea and we had to manage with time and location to find a way to have a brand new fridge meet me during my journey. Upon receiving the new fridge I loaded it up with a fresh load of groceries that night, only to wake up the next day and have the same exact thing happen to me again. They sent me ANOTHER broken fridge, how did this get past quality control?
At this point it was too late for me to schedule a third fridge to be sent to me during my road trip.
I was willing to accept that a fridge could be faulty the first time around, but I'm not about to give them a THIRD chance at this. Chelsea understood and promised me a refund at the end of my roadtrip. Well, I sent the fridge back and guess what, suddenly a refund is no longer an option. Instead they are only offering me $480 of my original full purchase.
