APL35 and APL55 efficient, reliable and highly recommended.
A few months ago I bought the APL55 and decided to put that in my hobby room to test it. Performance was impressive, cooling very quickly to the set temperature (< 5 minutes to 32 degr and < 10 minutes to -4 degr). I tried full fridge at 32 degrees, one side freezer at -4 and the other side at 32 degrees, then the other way around and full freezer with both sides at -4 degrees. Outside temperature varied from 64 degrees at night to 72 degrees during daytime. I operated the unit both from the control panel and the app on my phone. Both ways worked well without any issues. I liked having the unit in my hobby room and kept it there. It is very quiet and despite the impressive performance it uses very little power. I used a little flash fish portable power supply (151 Wh/40800 mAh) and it ran for 9 hours with both sides set to 32 degrees. I has now been running for about 3 months continuously without any problems. the only drawbacks is that the APL55 is rather big and heavy and when you change the temperature, the temp indication is a bit off while it is adjusting to the new set temp. Once the temp is stabilized, the temp indication is accurate within about 1 degree. Taking a look at the current temps, the left side indicates 32.0 vs my gauge 32.1 (set temp is 32) and the right side indicates 30.0 vs my gauge 30.2 (set temp is 30).
I have been so impressed with the performance of this unit and wanted to keep it in my hobby room, that I purchased the ultra light APL35 unit for my truck and it has been performing equally well. Recently I let it run for 36 hours on the battery while the truck was parked without any problem (diesel engine with dual batteries). My truck has crew cab, 8 ft bed with alu canopy. With the APL35 positioned at the tailgate and sitting in the drivers seat, the phone app connects just fine to the unit. Convenient control of the unit without having to exit the truck and access the back of the truck. I can whole heartedly recommend both these units.
