I replaced this with a broken edge star. It has a light to view food which has been an excellent upgrade from the previous refrigerator that I had. I will notice that there is not a handle to open the lid making opening the refrigerator a little bit difficult. Also, there is no retaining strap so, potentially, the lid falls all the way backward. Otherwise, it appears very durable, lightweight and does a great job. Job. We took it on a 7-week camping trip and it used stated power. My only disappointment is I didn't receive the 8% off that was offered on a first purchase.

Great Cooler

We used the VL45 on a recent weeklong trip to Yellowstone. In the 80 degree temperature in the parked car, the cooler did a great job maintaining the food at 36 degrees while running off of a battery pack.

When the lid developed a problem with one of the retaining strap, customer service was very responsive in providing a resolution.

This is a Chill Fridge

We've had our VL45 for a few years and it continues to deliver as promised - even through the hottest of summer heat. While it's been used it for day trips and even plugged in during backyard bbqs, its relied on for overland trips (typically one week at a time). The 5-year compressor warranty is close to unmatched (most others have opted for less reliable versions that come with only a 1-year warranty) and ICECO's after-market support is very good. Wholeheartedly recommend the brand.

Good value

VL 45 is an extreme value, I have had it plugged in to 120 vac since it arrived and has held temp perfectly and the best part is it is quite ! Time will reveal more.
