Delivered intact and on time. Met all expectations and largely works precisely advertised. For example, was impressed by how fast it reached set points of 0 deg freezer and 34 degree fridge (measured from room temperature while empty). I created temperature variations in a empty cooler by opening and closing the lid for various times, which I believe is much like real life, but without the cold food to help stabilize the internal temperature (and is therefore a conservative estimate of cooling capacity). Verdict: the AP 35 L is "serious kit" and worth the asking price, especially for a solo camper like me. Larger parties or a family should go for a larger cooler. The compressor is extremely quiet, and with the cooler sitting barely 3 feet from my chair I could barely hear it when running. Should be adequate quietness for light sleepers. During my “tests” I I opened the ice box regularly several times per day, let is warm up a little bit, and then tracked how much time it took for the unit to return to pre-set operating conditions. It always returned to set conditions (0/34 degrees) within an hour, depending on how long the lid was open. As such, and if I still camped with a family, I would institute ‘military rules" for icebox entry/exit. Minimize opens and shuts, keep it in the shade (mine is black), and limit “shopping trips” for snack. When one uses small ice boxes, reasonable performance expectations are required, and I expect that any experienced campers who purchases the AP 35L will like it as much as I do. 5 stars, no doubt. Finally, the internal lights and the drain are a boon. Without these two features It would not be nearly as handy or desirable. The handles could be a bit beefier (for hand comfort), but otherwise the design is nearly perfect. For the record, I am a 67-year old experienced (and now, solo) camper. Take the Yeti, if only as a backup. Electric stuff tends to break at the most inopportune time. I likes my whisky with ice and water in the evenings. A clean bag of ice or two in the Yeti and its No Worries, Mate!.
