Of the more than half a dozen cots Ive used, this is the most comfortable. Im a tall guy and a side sleeper, and this cot does a very good job accommodating me.
The lack of crossbars at the head and foot is welcome, and the slight give in the material even where the spreader bars are is key to comfortable side sleep. It doesnt feel like there are bars underneath you. A camp pillow is necessary for best results, and if you add a sleeping pad on top its better than some hotel beds and every pull-out couch Ive slept on.
The extended feet have good end protection to avoid tent damage, and the height is quite acceptable. The feet on the spreaders are even easier on a tent.
Size and weight of the unit are really good, for car camping or if you only have to haul it a mile or two. I think it would work great for bike, canoe, or horse packing too. Setup is easy and only takes a minute or so, not the fastest, but quite acceptable.
I havent had occasion to use the under-cot storage net, but I dont see any reason it wouldnt be fine.
There is nothing that stands out as a thing I dont like, but there are a few things I could see improved.
- If the pocket could be relocate-able (hook&loop maybe) that would be awesome
- Additional color options
- The soft "hair ties" that hold the legs to the spreaders when disassembled could be better
- A second row of molle on the storage bag so it can be secured better to packs, or racks
- The storage bag zipper is pretty average, Im going to hit it with some zipper lube for smoother operation
Overall Im very happy with the cot and I consider it a good value.
