Bought the VL35pro for overlanding and off grid camping, and after my first long trip into the back country I learned this was not the fridge for me. First the efficiency is highly lacking. I conduct a backyard efficiency test on how well the fridge maintains temperature and it was surprisingly not very good. In 80F outside temps I started at 39F for the internal temperature on the VL35pro. After 30 minutes of no power the internal temperature rose to 59F. A 20 degree rise in just 30 minutes was extremely concerning. Basically cold air escapes the fridge fast. This is major problem if you’re stationary for a short while without power. A unit of this price should hold temperatures longer and not require consist power. Second issues is the lid. The lid doesn’t seal very well and if you enjoy rattling noises while you drive, then this is a good fridge. However if you want a good sealing lid that doesn’t rattle, then this is not the fridge for you. In the end this fridge would be good in a trailer with consistent power.

I put ice in it, didn’t know how to unscrew the drainin the bottom so I turned it upside down & still haven’t gotten it to work again

Awesome unit

I purchased the VL35ProS and I can’t stress enough how much I love this unit. Going from a regular cooler to a freezer cooler was the best purchase I’ve made, keeps my drinks and food nice and cold.
