Very long story short, I was introduced to this brand by a few weekend warrior beginner overlanders. There is was sitting around a campfire and they were discussing the latest gear that they wanted. The conversation turned from mutual excitement to a heated debate. Sound familiar? The debate was between Iceco vs Dometic. When I say it got heated, the amount of ice that I kept in my little cooler wasn't enough to chill these guys out. Needless to say I had to think of something quick. Besides, that's not REAL camping right? Having a cooler thay requires no ice to keep an astronomical amount of cans cool for 7 days was... well, "glamping!" I interjected my observation LOUDLY. It was so quiet, that I finally heard the crickets and the crackle of wood. It was a quick peace as now they decided to wage war on my singular comment. A laundry list of points were made:
No ice, meant less wasted weight!
It's cooler longer, so you can stay out longer! You don't have wet food! No more severe food prepping! It looks damn rad! Etc. Etc.
Then Iceco had a sale.
Then I purchased the folding solar case, the extremely large battery station, and this behemoth. Am I ever glad I did! I have been on more trips with less spoiled, more protected, and better cooled food than I ever have with my little ice filled cooler. The solar panel (for now) is like a trickle charger for the battery which, in turn, keeps my massive cooler powered up longer. I can actually have ice cream bars while camping and have my various game meat in there! My dogs have used this cooler as a sleeping deck more times than I'd care to admit and they have not damaged it a single time. It fits perfectly in my trailer even though it's huge. Oh and the food that didn't spoil, that I didn't eat? It went right back in my home fridge. It never got into the danger zone! Compliments? I've received a ton! Well, except from my two friends. But at least I can enjoy the sound of crickets and fire because of how extremely quiet the VL75Pro is! Well, thay and I am outdoors longer than those two are!
