Have had 2 units shipped to me and both arrived broken. 1 Star is purely based off the structural integrity of the unit and not the electrical functionality.
1st unit showed up damaged on the bottom corner. Upon further inspection you can tell the design of the case is not durable at all and cheap. The outside shell is held together with 4 long and THIN bolts that run from the top of the case into molded thread inserts on the bottom. The damage was from the nut insert completely ripping out of the plastic on the bottom. There was not really any damage to the shipping box, so I could tell any sort of small drop or decent bump will break the case. Also, the carry handle is attached to the top of the case so the entire weight of the unit relies on 4 small nut inserts on the bottom.
I gave it a chance and let them send me a replacement unit with the hopes that it would arrive complete and undamaged.
The 2nd unit that showed up, the side was caved in. The plastic tabs that hold the sides flush were completely snapped and broken on the inside. You can see the plastic tabs are thin and very fragile. Again the shipping box did not have any significant damage. Overall the plastic is hard and brittle, so I do not see this unit having longevity.
Im no engineer, but even I can tell the structural integrity of the outer shell is no where near as strong as it should be. I did some further research and found this is a common issue with this unit.
Disappointed because their coolers are very well built.
I had a decent experience with the customer support. It didnt take too long for responses and they provided me with a shipping return label. I am writing this as I wait for the response about the 2nd unit being damaged. Asking for a full refund.
Important to note that if you do gamble with purchasing this unit, and need to return it, you will have to go to very specific FedEx locations that allow for hazardous material to be shipped. A bit of a pain since I had to drive 30 min away to get it shipped back.
