Admittedly, I have not used this fridge nearly as much as I thought I would. As far as I can tell, it works just fine, though.
One area of improvement would be the 12-volt plug. It's cheaply made and came apart when I removed it from the 12-volt power socket in my car. I put it back together easily and quickly but who's to say it won't come apart again?
My biggest issue is that it arrived in a box that was falling apart, corners tearing, a puncture in one end, and all of it was held together with shrink wrap. When I opened the box, I was surprised to see the fridge in one piece UNTIL I noticed the vent panel on the end was dented. Considering the condition of the box, I have to wonder if this is actually B-stock sold as new. It doesn't affect the functionality and I might be able to bend the panel back into shape but I'm still displeased that I paid for something that arrived damaged. Is this what happens when you use a promo code?
To be fair, I have not had time to contact ICECO about the damage but I will do that now. In the meantime, I give 5 stars for overall functionality but deduct 1 star for the cheap plug and 1 more star for the damage.
I would submit photos with this review but I do not see the option.
It came fast and works well only - is the 12 volt plug on the Side is to low on cooler to fit in slide out rack on my motor home
The fridge cools well in refrigerator mode. In freezer mode, it gets warm very quickly when the power is off, which is a problem when it's plugged into the car's 12V outlet because the male end of the cord is a piece of junk. It's poorly made, flimsy and mis-sized to stay securely in the 12V socket. I've tried multiple, and it's the same issue each time. The plug is loose in the socket and the fridge loses power at the slightest jostle, which happens during driving. We're very disappointed that ICECO would ship such a poor-quality cord with the box.
ICECO 63.4QT VL60 Dual 12V Portable Fridge Freezer
Hooked up to solar system in camper. Excellent cooler. If anyone were undecided, I'd say leap and buy an iceco. Great cooler. Running 12 volts off my solar, performing flawlessly.
